Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3

Lee

  BMW M2C

Fantastic. I had 4 put on the car on Friday. A massive improvement over the Contis in all the areas that count.

High levels of grip were always to be expected from them, but I wasnt expecting the improvement in ride quality and noise levels. Theres now a lot less road noise on the motorway. Its also stopped tram lining anywhere near as much as it did.

I was always happy with the Contis, but the F1s are noticeably better.

I dropped in at Kwik Fit on Saturday to get the nuts checked!! The guy there asked why Id chosen F1s and then went on to say he considered them the best tyres you can get. Pretty much the same thing was said by the guy who fitted them.

Not cheap, but if you enjoy driving your car hard they are worth every penny.

Im looking for an improved 1/4 mile time come the new year, the front end grips like a b*****d now. :D

Lee - how much did they work out if you dont mind me asking? Im running low on rubber, thinking of going down the same path after Xmas. Where did you order from?

What size?

They are on my Mk2 172.

I got them from Kwik Fit in the end. £290.00 all in. Im sure with a little more effort they would come down a bit more.

Mine were 195/45/16.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago on the valver with my new alloys.

£288 from Demon Tweeks - 195/45/16

Not tested their true potential yet, only done about 150miles on them, but they seem very good so far.

Roamer would be the man to answer that one. Hes had them on a while.

Im hoping to see around 10k from the fronts!! I just stretched 13k out the Contis.

I think my mate got around 12k out of them on his Impreza.

  Hippys bus of LOVE !!!

Glad to see your loving them lee.... And they were worth every penny :D

MY MONEYS ON YOU FOR BETTER 1/4 MILE TIMES ;)

I got the GSD2s for £160 pair fitted, ballanced and valve. I thought the GSD3s were a lot dearer. Mine are fantastic too.

Yup Yup, fantastic tyres guys, I really really rate them, infact I hated my contis so much I sold them after 600 miles lol and went straight onto eagle f1s, I got about 10k on the first front set, and 11k on the second set, but I think I might only see about 5-6k on this third set - theyve already been well scrubbed from the track day lol - but as for grip they are just superb - in the dry the toyos win out ever so slightly but as an overall tyre for winter and summer driving they are simply the best :)

Especially when I try it in your motor.;)

Once again I have the confidence to chuck the little Clio around. :D

Considering you only get them Friday theyre probably not even run in..so youve been caning it already? Bad idea..

Still dont get what the big fit is with Contis. Stop blaming the tyres, heavy foot + big bhp FWD = understeer!!!!!!!!!

Why do you assume Ive been canning it? I had them fitted Friday and have already covered over 300 miles on them, so they are hardly virgin tyres now. I gave it a little this morning to try and get a feel for them.

I didnt say anything bad about the Contis, I liked them. But why have to contend with traction issues when it can be improved with better tyres! Where did I complain about understeer?

Stop starting arguments just for arguments sake you cheeky b*****d! ;)

Have had mine on for about 4months/3-4000miles now (on a dci) and Ive only encountered traction problems at the front very recently. But thats the torque and slippy road surfaces.

Id certainly buy them again, although they do tramline a fair bit (that may be due to increasing the width to 195 from 185 though)

  Mk2 V6, MK1 Track Sl#g

Ive got Yokos A539s (195/45/15s) on my clio and they are sh*t hot in the wet and theyve lasted about 4month so far with a fare bit of tread on them

Lee M,

I had the GSD 2s fitted about 3500 miles ago...

Completely agree with what you have said about both manfurfacturer of the tyres.

I asked for the GSD 3 and was told that they dont do it on the std Ren size wheel, only thing near was the 205/40/17s. Have deffo got the GSD3s? Are they new to the market?

I have lost 4mm (front) in those miles that they have been on the car. 1mm on the back!

Now you need some Pro-kit springs!! IMO
