Got 16v Wings through today...

As most of you know I crashed my car and am doing a front end body conversion to 16v.

I paid £42 to WayneClio16v to deliver some wings to me.

They came today and theyre f**kin plastic wings, meant to be getting car fixed on Thursday so really needed those wings.

they are all plastic mate on the 16v! well fibreglass anyway

Surely that cant be safe? And do people have a problem getting them sprayed?

They arnt structural! They just sit there, heh.

They just get sprayed like anything else..

What do you mean theyre not structural? I mean...surely they protect the engine bay in a crash to a degree.

Also, I think I already know the answer - but why are they plastic?

If you look under the wings, there is a lot of metal until you get to the engine bay!

I guess they are cheaper - and probably easier to make wider - dunno.

Lol well I apologise for my rant - but you can see how I would be angry as I thought he sold me dodgy wings .

Whats the weight of standard mk1 wings compared to the 16v wings?

just a shame the rear ones arent plastic, rear arch rust is the bane of any valver owner!

Rear arches are part of the shell. Heh. Front dont matter.

Dunno about weight..
