Got my clio sport have a strange noise though

hi all
got my clio sport and its great
have a strange noise inside though, its a sort of hum that comes through the interior light assembly if i cover what looks like the speaker grid on it the noise quitens so its definately from there
what the grid for up there can anyone help please and whats causing the noise, is it something to do with an alarm?

Is it not something to do with the thermostat in there? I'm sure there is something like that as my bro's 172FF had something similar.

Isn't the air conditioning sensor up there? someone will know for sure. I have a buzzing from under the passenger facia, just add the noises to the ever growing list LOL

yeah its likely that the climate control fan is buzzing away. Most on here suffer from the same problem. Search for a guide on greasing/cleaning it. If it doesnt help, just replace it. Or turn the music up like I do

surely the climate control fan is not up in the interior light housing? or am i being thick

pull the casing off and clean out the wee fan...

it will reduce the noise slightly...

(did for mine)

lots of s**t had built up on it..

This has started to happen on my 172 too, or it has been doing it for a while and now has got noticeably worse!

Any solutions yet?

Replace the fan, I don't think they are that expensive.

If I take the light out, drop the light/sensor holder bit and remove the fan from its 'clipped in' position whilst its still on it stops buzzing, as soon as I put it back in place it foookin buzzes! almost like it needs a little foam or something to sit in and take up the vibrations

Does the outer case just pop off?

Yes!

Just disconnect the fan altogether! If you want to change the temperature then switch the engine/ignition off!
