Grinding noise when steering. HELP

My gf is complaining (what a shock :rasp that this morning when she set off, for a minute or two when ever she steered she could hear a grinding noise which in her eyes was a 'huge noise' :rasp:

Any thoughts as to what it could be or is there any common fault that could be at play?

Power steering on any car make a weird grinding noise. Could be a number of causes.

As long as its not leacking, there is fluid in the resivoir and the steering feels ok, dont worry about it.
