I tell you, they have clowns working there.

I sold my 1.2 around the 14 April 2007, so insurance advised me to write a letter stating to suspend the account until I find a new car.

They received my letter 17th, and put my account on suspension.

Well on the 24th April, I buy my ph-quick and notify insurance. Then I get my certificate of motor insurance from the elephant for my new car, stating cover starts on the 24th April till my policy ends on the 14 June. Which is cool...

well...

Yesterday (04/05/07) I received 2 letters from elephant, both dated 02/05/07) that they have cancelled my policy and I will have to pay the £45.00 cancellation charge, with a copy of the certificate of motor insurance stating my policy has ended on the 02/05/07.

I didnt cancel it... I just suspended for a week till I got my new car!! grrrrrrr

Hopefully, this letter is just an error, cos if it aint I'm gonna be pissed, which means I would have been driving around without insurance for 2 days!! I am not happy...

Lets just hope they tell me to ignore that letter, cos now I am worried

btw, I have letter of suspension I sent them, and both certificates and docs from elephent as proof i did not cancel, I just suspended from 17/04/07 to 23/04/07!!

rant not over yet, till i get hold of someone in 15mins when their telephone lines open..

fooking hell... relief... they told me my account is still active, and my policy ends on the 14/06/07. thank god for that.

they said to ignore the 2 letters dated 02/05/07 as they were sent in error.

Well when I've tried to suspend my policy in the past because I've been leaving the country for several months, they wouldn't let me do it. I had no reasonable option other than to cancel my insurance and take out a fresh policy when I got back.

Only thing I've been pissed off about with elephant so far in around 3 years with them.
