lol only had the car a day ha,
havent really had the chance to test the clio's full potential as the thing started missfiring after i filled it up with Supreme Unleaded, so as for acceleration in comparison to the GT ill have to update once the problem is fixed!
It will feel really slow in comparison. When I had my GT, I test drove a 182, and it felt like a 1.1, due to the fact I was used to the turbo feeling.
In real terms, the 172 will probably match a bog standard GT 0-100, but there aren't many standard GT's around nowadays.
My brother has my old GT, and I cannot start gaining on him until about 110mph. (Luckily my private runway is nice and long.) Cornering is a different league though.

Well this is the thing my GT was completely standard, apart from the Dump valve, i will miss the Turbo for sure. by the sounds of it you had a Seb4 set up lol.
Yeh i was massively let down by speed in comparrison with my punto. But round corners, its immense!

Surely a standar 172 has to be quicker than a standard GT? you guys are talking Seb2's which are roughly 160bhp an weighing as much as a matchbox car.
Mine wasnt a standard GT tho

Both nice! Had a GT myself. Full seb2 setup with fmic etc lol! made 177bhp at the fly
running 19-20 psi! thing was nuts
sold it for an mr2 turbo which wasnt much faster and now i have a 172 aswell

Back in 2003........ full seb 2, fmc, two stage boost controller, scorpion cat back (rear box removed and stelth pipe added) de cat, piper X. Went like fook. Quicker than the 172 Cup i replaced it with...... well miss it
