Is it me or is that proper poor effort?

All that happens is bumpers hang off and doors open, no damage to actual body panels or crumpling whatsoever.

Its not great is it, it takes too much of a crash even to dislodge a bumper! That should have written the car off!

At least its visually stunning unlike...

When will there be a finished code tho.......it was being released in a month up untill recently so this was finished code but they have obviously decided that what they had wasn't good enough to warrant the development time

I think after the forza 3 release they will realise that damage modelling is now expected in racing sims, which GT is. Yet sadly I think they will expect it to sell on name alone, much like the PS3

yeah....I'm must admit those vids on IGN weren't very impressive..I thought it had full damage modeling ie hit a barrier and the car would bend round the barrier but it looks just like regular damage and although the replay car models are amazing the ingame looks pretty normal to me

Yes Forza currently pwns GT and yes I am sure FM3 will be a much better game overall, but the FM3 demo looks significantly worse graphically than GT5 prologue!

The forza fanboys are currently up in arms about it on the Forza website demanding some sort of statement from turn10 lol!

I won't deny that the replays seen previously of GT5 are graphically stunning...there is something about them that makes them look very realistic but the ingame doesn't seem half as impressive which is what the gt fans are saying FM3 is like

And strangely when I went on one forza site with a poll it was 85% of the people where pleased with it

^^Don't get me wrong its a great demo and a stunning overall game and the tracks have been massivly improved but T10 have been caught telling porkies and their is a fair bit of dissapointment online re the visuals. Its probably better comparing GT5P and FM3 demo directly rather than in postage stamp vids, one is significantly better looking - but the other plays so much better!

I still don't see GT5 looking so much better tho...replays yes but as the normal player on an ext view or bumper cam the amazing detail doesn't really show

I don't want you to think I'm backing it up because I have an xbox...I was a massive fan of the GT series but I just think people on the games forum complaining that Turn10 liars should look at PD saying the game will be out in 2007/2008/2009 and now 2010

Forza 3 dosent look like that though, not in game or replays... Hence all the fuss over at forza forums, it's also been confirmed by che that the final game will look exactly the same as the demo using the low lod models and not the ones from promo videos etc...

No thats a photomode pic...which everyone with an ounce of common sense has know about for months... The point I'm making is posting that picture of the F1 car which is obviously not 'in game' isn't a good comparison. Games companies do it all the time...check out the images of GT on psp...there were some pics that everyone raved about but when the ingame pics came out it was more like PSX. How about 90% (especially early on) of the pics of GT5 were of replay mode or the dashboard view which distracted you from the rest which wasn't exactly mindblowing.

one problems Ive found with any GT is the engine noise. They've never seemed to get it right. Forza engine noise etc is spot on.

imo the gameplay of GT5: p looks better than the Forza 3 demo

both are meant to be demos so I guess it's as good enough comparison as we will get for a while.

I think forza 3 demo gameplay is a bit better though.

Do you mean the graphics on GT5P look better than Forza 3 but the gameplay is better on the FM3 demo?

To be honest I think there's hardly enough between both titles graphically to warrant all the arguments over which one looks better. But gameplay wise GT5P isn't even comparable to FM2, let alone FM3. Unless they seriously improve the handling and feel of the cars for the full release of GT5 then I'm not going to even consider purchasing it.

Well it was in response to the F1 pic of GT5 which was not in game..but also photomode in Forza2 doesn't add any extras that isn't in game as far as I know but demonstrates that it is easy to show a bad pic to aid a comparison
