GT5 damage modelling

  The Bus and MRT
Good post Chris. Tbh both of them look good enough for me to not care less which one has the slight edge graphically, I just hope they sort out the handling in the full release of GT5 because it was s**te in GT5P.

LOL Chris you are comparing Forza 3 to the HD GT4 demo!!! I did mention that once above!

Check out the comparison shots I posted which basically show better car models on GT5p but better scenery on Forza 3. 1080p and higher textures/more polys will ALWAYS look better than 720P and the now admitted by Turn10 low texture car models!

Was the Evo X on the HD demo? I'm pretty sure it was just in the prologue?

Well it was in response to the F1 pic of GT5 which was not in game..but also photomode in Forza2 doesn't add any extras that isn't in game as far as I know but demonstrates that it is easy to show a bad pic to aid a comparison

Another comparison here

You have far too much time on your hands!:clown:

Enough fanboy bitching tbh, get whichever you prefer and play it (this is like PES vs FIFA), me i'll buy both and enjoy playing both :)

^ That was taken from the same link that Brazo posted, it's another person's views on the same screenshots. Taken from FM3 and GT5p. I'm a GT fanboy back from GT1, but it's getting beyond a joke tbh.

im sick of all the bitching about forza 3 n GT5 tbh there both shite ;) no but seriously who gives two s***s, if you own a xbox 360 only why on gods green earth do you care what GT5 looks like and visa versa. If you own both 360 and a PS3 buy forza for 360 and GT5 for PS3 then take back which ever one you dont like best and stop making comparison threads there boaring as fook because its the same churned out shite every time its almost predictable to whats gonna be said.

What makes me laugh now is all the lot on GT planet saying GT doesnt need damage and it's not part of a sim then jizzing their pants when it's announced it was going to have damage, proclaiming it would be "perfect" and "Realistic" where Forza's was a half assed attempt only to revert to saying it doesn't matter about damage when it was announced not all cars would have it. Now we're being told all cars will have it and look at this, familiar level of damage to another current gen racing game....

i have to say graphically, gt5 looks to have one over on forza. We all know forza the legendary forza physics and gameplay, but i spent hours on gt4, so they can get everything right.

i totally agree with what chris' is pointing out in the labelled screenshot, in that technically in forza there are more polygons and higher res textures etc.

however i look at GT5 and i think 'wow that looks impressive'
whereas i look at forza and think 'hmm that bit looks a bit grainy, theres some jaggies, and over there is a bit glitchy' for some reason looking at the forza picture doesnt make me want to admire it, but pick at it whereas although gt5 has a 2d backdrop (for 1 example) it seems to 'fit' and just looks 'right'

it's not as immersive in a graphical sense for me.

Forza 3 does have better backdrops and scenery than 'P' but the car models on 'P' are so far ahead its astonishing. The rear end of the R8 on Forza isn't even remotely accurate. The in car view on Forza 3 is lets face it an embarrasment.

Hopefully the scenery will be improved for '5', in game footgae thus far would suggest so.

Ultimate racing game would be Forza physics and features, tracks from both titles, car list from both titles and the car models/lighting all done by PD.

Lol You do know that the V10 has a different rear end than the V8?

I thought it was bad at 1st mainly because the 'vents' on the back had less fins...but this is exactly as it is in real life.....same for the mini interior...everyone harps on about how poor the interiors are but I can't really see much difference on the above pics...except there seems to be more detail on the roof than the GT5 pics?

lets be honest, graphics mean fcuk all if the gameplay isn't up to scratch. I know which i'd rather have.

They've made one massive school boy error in both.

They've put the steering wheel on the wrong side.

but are they really that different? if you squint it could be the same game!

yes, i personaly dont like the way the road and grass looks on forza3 looks too artificial if you get were im coming from cars look poop in my eyes.

perfect game, Forza gameplay but in GT5

3 seconds into the race on either game youve stopped gawping at the hi res grass textures and are copncentrating on actually playing the game.

honestly, do you lot drive round contantly looking at the graphics thinking "Bugger me im glad i brought -whichever game-, the slightly higher poly count on the car models makes all the difference"

no, and if you do, well, you need a night in the company of a woman or something.

agreed, going sideways in Forza completely undercontrol are what its all about. The physics in GT5 need to be radically improved for it to REALLY impress and have a lasting appeal.

Exactly what I'm thinking mate. I'll buy GT5 if they improve on the handling, otherwise I'll just stick with FM3.

I'll buy both, but am totally expecting to enjoy Forza 3 more, I'd be surprised if GT5 manages to match nevermind beat Forza 3's physics.

What he says^

Also them bringing the title out later next year means that I'll be able to concentrate on Forza for 6+ months with out having to juggle the two titles.

Its probably best not to carry this on but...

Are you being serious about the mini interior!!!!!!!!!

lol its all good fun m8 ;)

but they are different interiors so some differences can be put down to that...is the speedo really not round as in the ps3 pic? The lighting looks better in the PS3 shot but thats probably down to the position of the sun more than anything. The ps3 is defo prettier but comparing details of cars that have slightly different is a struggle tbh...best thing to do is wait till the end of the year and see which one is worth the money...oh wait :p
