Hey that 182 with cup pack would almost be as good as my real deal 172 cup! No bits added on to make it better, mine is as pure a handling cliosport as will ever be produced standard! The 182 with cup options is a toned down 172 cup with all the needless things like babyss (abs) xenons and traction control. I wont even get started with the stripes! Alright for a bit of fast road driving but it would lose out in the extreme handling environment of a track where none of these nannying features would help, appart from adding weight and slowing down the responses and lap times. (Waits for the backlash!)
But the 182 with cup options may be the more civilised of the two on the road which is better for some people, but if you are going to produce a hot hatch, its best to stretch it to its limits in terms of light weight and responsiveness IMO.
However these cars are very close in character, which is why i cant believe we are even arguing about the Pug 180 GTI. It isnt in the same class as a cup or a 182 cup in terms of handling, performance, or value for money, read the evo magazine site <A target=_blank href= "
http://www.evo.co.ukwww.evo.co.uk to see how disappointed they are with their longtermer and how much they are missing the clio cup and how much they would rather have a 182 with cup options than a lardy, slow hot hatch pretender! Strong words but these are their and my opinions!
