as long as its not creased the spare wheel well. I had a similair thing happen to my car but not as bad the other day and was told by the dent man that if I went though the insurance it would have been a write off but it was only a 4 inch dent and 2 parking dents on door!!!

As you said lucky it was a wall and not another car or worse a person.
Atleast its only easy to replace parts albeit costly. More of an inconvienence than anything and something you could do without.
Same thing happened to me with the wifes Metro Gti several years ago. Nothing parks outside our house 364 days of the year, but the day the handbrake fails a lorry happens to park up on the grass. The car went backwards down the drive, through the gates across the road and hit the back end of the lorry.

always keep it in gear when parked!

It has creased the floor a little bit but will only need bashing down and straightening turning out to be okay! Getting the boot and bumper Thursday and its all getting sprayed over the weekend, then fitted on Monday I'm having the rear wiper removed now as well and the motor... From now on I will always put it in gear!
