Not a great deal. There is no chance that thing ain't rotten! They came with rust as standard factory fitment. Theonly cool thing is the dash, they remind me of night rider.

To give him a 172 with out some decent wedge ur way ...... Ud me blooomin mental!

Were they that quick?

Looks like an old Astra to me, I know they are still icons though.

If I could pay the insurance I would love one of these! Remember my dad had one before and it was great, always loved the digi dash

Does nothing for me. Mainly because the only old astras I've seen have council housed pilots and 5 inch oval tail pipes.

oh yes in there day they where rapid, had a few mates with them, when i had my 1.9 gti, lol used to make mine look like it was going backwards remember seeing 139mph 5 up in one, used to leave all the boy racers standing in these things, ( IN A STRAIGHT LINE ) bends they are s**t, even tweaked 5 turbo's seemed to get smoked by my mates standard one, bought it with 96k on the clock ragged it to death, sold it with 156k on the clock, never serviced it, that engine is in a nova now

another mate just sold a very tidy 16v for £500, to help fund his 430 bhp gte turbo!

but swap one for a 172/182 noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo chance!

These things were THE car to have back in the day. 150 solid BHP.

My mate had one and had a whale tail put on it and painted the whole car Kawasaki Green. Had Three spokes too iirc. Was hideous thinking back but thats what we did back then! lol.

They were 90's Pecs!

Admitedly they were 99% of the time fitted to 80's cars, but they were definately 90's!

Iconic cars for the time to be fair - my sister's ex had a white SRi with white 5 spokes and that thing was (well, felt) absolutely rapid. Remember clearing 140mph on the way down to Cornwall once.

He crashed though when he tried to turn a corner.
