most people that call them selfs "hackers" are not even hackers people who also go around saying they have "hackd" certain computers are 99% of the time bulls**tters. Also people who say "ill hack you if you dont shut up" are also full of crap as if you was a so calld remote access/control technition aka Hacker then you would just do it and not bragg ya b****cks off.
Most kids ive come across use a program that mass tags or bombs your pc causing either the internet connection to die or the pc with the amount of crap that is sent through in a cpl of seconds an it struggles to work it out causing you to re-start the pc.
But if you know computer programming you are able todo this with abit more ease by telnet which is a ms-dos windows prog an good for using codes also linux is a good prog to use for this.
PC servers are easy as they are only allowed small time firewalls as most of the information would get blockd otherwise.
Best way to stop people hacking your pc is not to have an internet connection or a hardware firewall ie most people get 64bit others can get 128bit Aye myself got a mate to set all mine up an was told its about 256bit.
Banks and other high security places youll find impossible to do as they are more than what you can think off.
Anyway hacking or gaining remote access is illegal andfines court orders and even inprison'ment can be put forward for the punishment.

Ok, that doesnt happen unless your running a <win98 machine.. even then im pretty sure they patched that just after they invented electricity. ICMP flooding is easy to deal with at the firewall level.. the problem is with DDos its comming from 10's sometimes 100's of IP's simultanously !

The very fact that he said "PC Servers" show his level of technical prowess... While its true a hardware firewall is more efficient, there is nothing stopping you dropping bad packets at the firewall without sending back and ACK packet..

I dunno.. i can think of a pretty high number off the top of my head.. which im pretty sure thats where your mate got his info from.. :nono:

best way to not be hacked is to not have an internet connection! lol! really? that would be fun!
I remember when the Webdav bug in IIS got exploited, had a field day scanning all different ranges, usually Uni's etc.
Then there was the MS-SQL exploit which also got used to my advantage.
And then there was also the nice easy administrator password, or even if there was no admin password when using netbios and the IPC share.
And last but not least, the RPC exploit which ended up getting you with a command prompt on the host machine.
From there I'd transfer over an ftp server program (typically Serv-U or RaidenFTPd) and it'd be used as a dump.
I used to be part of a couple of fxp groups a couple of years ago.
