Had my Steam account nicked

Basically, I stopped using Steam when my PC went bang a couple of years ago. I've finally got round to getting a new PC and broadband, it all comes on Thursday. I was looking through the Steam community on my iPhone the other day and couldn't find my profile anywhere. I gave some details to thesgl detectives and they've located my profile.

Turns out it's some little scrote in Australia who's been using my account for god knows how long. Luckily for me it has not been VAC banned. I'm pissed off because I have about 30 odd games on there, which I was looking forward to playing again.

Anyone been in a similar situation?

I need to get onto Steam to claim the account back, and ideas on timescales?

Yep, I've been in the same situation before

I had to send them a picture of my Half Life 2 disk + CD Key before they'd let me have the account back

Took a week or so

I'll have to see if I've got any games I installed via a disc! Doesn't sound promising.

If you purchased the games via steam, did you keep the email invoice? I always store mine just in case, as they should be able to sort it through the invoice.

Sounds like a good idea that. Especially as I have 93 games on Steam in total!

Turns out it's some bird called Jessica from Australia. Honestly, I think I'd actually rape her for that. Well I've e-mailed steam with the original card details I used to buy most of the games. Lets hope I get it back asap!

Well... I got my account back. Now look -

It appears that someone stole my account and then sold it to somebody else. This is against Steam rules so they've disabled the account. Awesome. It's f**king hard work this is...
