had wilwood 4 pots fitted about 5 months squeeky

  172 turbo
basically has these on car for 5 months and now really squeeky loud if i even touch the pedal doesnt anoy me but anoys other people what can cause this and i can see any rust of discs?

Im only a hobby mechanic but i had squeaking when slightly touching the brakes... took the pads out they where bone dry (originally i had a bit of copper grease on the backs of pads), Put a slim coat of copper slip on the backs and solved the problem...

yeah the material that touches the disks needs to be dry and free from grease, on the back of the pads where it is metal (or painted) you can apply a grease called "copper grease" its good with high temperatures, its put on the back of the pad to give the pad a bit of grease in between the pad and the calliper carrier and can eliminate some noise when pressing the break pedal i.e. squeeking.

So if the pad has got hot many times over and the copper grease has disappeared from whatever heat/moisture/time etc... re applying some can help..

It could be a different problem though, someone like Fred will come along and tell you straight.

you rarely use copper grease these days, on cheap pads from china yes, on decent stuff there is no need (and before anyone spouts up OEM's dont put it on in the factory, and modern materials dont need it)

the issue you have will be to either ill fitted/fitting pads - build up of brake dust in the caliper causing the pad to become "sticky" in the caliper, whip the pads out, clean away all the old crud and mabe dress the back plates down with a grinder slightly so the pad is free to move - done
