put on the rear springs earlier, which i bought from V1NNY, now he sold them as 40mm lowering springs, and i cannot fit my finger inbetween the tyre and arch on the rear with out forcing it around the tyre, which i am not too happy about, didnt want it that low on just springs,

i know it will be less once the front is evened out, but even so bit worried about it, i should have a proper apex 60mm kit on it in the next 2 months hopefully, but even so will this cause any damage to the shocks?

ive been told to avoid jumps so the springs dont dislodge, is this likely to occur just goin over bumps??

ill try and get some pics up tomorrow of it.

dont sound too clever, indeed get the pics up. should be better with the fronts on. std shocks arent too great but 40mm should be fine. I had this on a mk2 for over a year and was fine just dont rag your car etc.

yeah, thing is its super low at the back, coilover style i think!

never thought to compare the springs when i put them on so...

might get some pics later, going to a pub with a lit car park so might be able to get a few half decent ones.

i think my 35mm springs have dislodged as when i go up hills from the bottom they clunk or click, how do you sort it out?

and tbh mate pictures are going to be better, but if your getting a kit soon its not going to bad at all.

I dont think they would dislodge TBH.

the only time i have seen that is on a M reg cav with original shocks and -60mm springs.

looks fine, just how my -40 apex springs looked on the 172.

the rears take all of 10 mins to fit anyway, so you could always change them back if needed.

yeah, but the thing is thats with the interior out and nothing in the back, those pics look higher than in real life for some reason, if i go to put my hand in the arch then it wont go in horizontal, i have to bend my fingers around the tyre

right, so if i get an apex 60 kit then it should look similar?!

think theres any damage to be done??

apex 60mm kit will be very similar to that low pic on your photobucket. but the ride will be better as the shocks will be uprated on standard. :)

yeah, they are 15's on the car, with 195/50's

hopefully will only be on for about 2/3 months max, only wanted 35mm just to make the car sit better on the wheels until i got coilovers or a kit, with the car fully jucked the springs look asthough they could fall off the mounts, not very good!

when you jack the car up they all do that... look like they're gonna fall out. it takes some force to actually pull them out. When driving the weight of the car keeps them in.

a pic of my old apex springs when the car was jacked up:

mine are a bit worse that that mate from the looks of it!

but im hoping they should be fine for a few months, my mate who helped me fit them said dont do any 'jumps' incase the spring dislodges mid-air, but with the weight of the car on them under a bit of hard cornering they should be fine shouldnt they??

If there that loosly fitted take them off thats dangerous the spring should sit tight when the rear supesnion is fully extended.

Cheers mate, like your wheels. Getting coilovers eventually just want to see what itll look like level because the front of mine is loads lower than the back!
