is that not just halo 2 with some of the add-on maps you can download? i cant see that being what halo 3 will look like. halo 2 was a big disapointment, I cant see microsoft making that miatake again. halo 3 is pretty much what everyone bough an xbox 360 for...right?

Well i'd say it looks like halo 2.5 tbh - halo 2 with a higher res and better textures. I know that this is microsofts make or break game, so im sure they'll ensure its a good un, but like you say, halo 2 was poor so its possible that bungie have gone off the boil :S

its a BETA with placehold textures and basically f**k all running as it will, it will look much better than that when its gold

Ive seen vids, dev interviews etc etc and none of it impresses me tbh
It all looks like the old halo's with extra effects and better graphics and a few tweeks.
Combat, has evolved since then!
I like games that use cover and you really need to use your environment, this still looks like the same old two people running around in circles jumping and blasting eachother.... its just so..... quake 2!

Will still have a crack at the beta on the 16th tho but that will probably decide if I buy it... prefered the halo's on single player anyways

there is a present beta trail that started in march I think, it was for a few select people that met their requirements.
The open public beta is in may
The reason for the beta's is so they can work on the game play side of it if you watch the vids on xbox live.

Thats the game code, their not gonna change much at this stage its just tweaks to make it "feel" right.
I was involved in the tribes 2 beta test years back and the beta was pretty much the same as the final game, they just clean up the code, optimise it and sort out bugs.

you also have to rememebr that the video your watching isnt exactly good quality but tbh the finished game wont look anything like that quality wise
