Hand brake adjustment

I've had a little search and a look at the guides but no joy... Can anyone tell me how to adjust the handbrake on my 172? I've got a little bit to much travel (understatement!)

my phase 1 'W' reg has an adjuster on the handbrake lever under the cover.

My old phase 2 '02' plate had it underneath the exhaust heatsheid and is tricky to get to.

Not sure which type a cup will have but its one of these

Ahh, I had a little look the other day and decided its got to be somewhere under the exhauts heat shield.. That'll be a fun job for the weekend then on axle stands! cheers burp
