Brake fluid and sometimes worn discs can flag that up.

Another vote for brake fluid. It happens when the pads are low. If they need changing, then replace them before looking at topping up the fluid.

its had new discs and pads about 6 months ago and theres plenty left on them all around - Brake fluid had been pointed out to me before i shall bleed the brakes over the weekend they do feel a little soft tbh, but would this only happen on left turns? wouldnt you expect to see it on left & right turning ?

Thanks for the advice its really appreciated !

The sensor is dipped into the left side of the reservoir, so on left handers the fluid moves away from it. There is a little well that the sensor sits in that I presume is designed to resist the fluid surging from side to side when cornering. When I've had this light come on, it's always been on a left hander. First time was when my pads were low, second time was when I had just bled some fluid off on a track day.

just topping it up will do it if thats the issue. no need to bleed really. Low levels in the reservoir might solve the spongyness.

Well found the problem with this... i decided new discs and pads all around were in order whilst i bled the brakes etc.. got a good price for it all so thought why not...

Anyway whilst changing the rear offside disc/pads i noticed my shock had blown =( thought the back end felt slightly loose also tbh wasnt as bad as you would have expected with the shock in the state it was ... anyway new discs + pads and a set of rear shocks later - all good!
