hand break fault

just parked my car and pulled the handbreak and its gone twice as high as usual and quite slack, still works tho, any suggestions on how to fix this or whats happened? thanks joe

you might of streached the cable, a garage would so it for about £10

Needs looking at really to say for sure. It could be a stretched cable but (more likely, if it's just suddenly happened) it could also be a snapped cable (there's two).

Sounds like a snapped cable . Mine did the same a few weeks ago , snapped the nipple off the end . Change both sides , job done .
