Rear dampers failing and budget tyres are two common problems on Clio's. Check the dampers for oil loss and never skimp on tyres.

Also, what the hell is a boot build?!

dampers it could be then as one side rubs on arch so that could be the cause and boot build there are 2 subs fitted into a fibreglass molded box there for some weight an no chuffin space in the boot not even 1 bag of shopping

Not sure but its not worth skimping if they are leaking oil as one day the back end will catch you out and put you off the road. What tyres does it have on the rear? They are prone to lift off oversteer especially if the tyres arn't that good.

You should be able to see if they have leaked oil. Otherwise try giving it the bump test; bounce the car up and down and it should only do 1 bounce by itself after you stop, or someting like that anyway. If it bounces like a cadilac then that corner is fecked for sure.
