hard faulty PE2's

  titanic killer
Has anyone else had the same problem with new tyres, they make your car sound as if you have a flat tyres or your wheel bearings have gone
any info welcome

  BMW F31
mine do it they make the car sound like a wheel bearing has gone on certain surfaces and certain speeds. just the tread pattern i guess and compound

You checked the pressures mate?
lol yeah of coasre ive checked the pressures 32 front 30 back but its the two new exalto's that are a nightmare took them to 3 garages and they all said the same that they were faulty cos they had gone hard

I tend to find mine make a horibal sound on certain surfaces, but I have put this down to the tread pattern and the fact that they have stiffer walls.

I have upped the pressure on the front to 34 and the rear to 31/2 just becuase I prefer the way the car drives, I have had no side effects and they have done 21k since I picked the car up.

2OO miles and the tyres are 5 years old ? How long ago did you buy tyres ? If you bought them recently i'd be having a word with the tyre supplier .

no i didnt buy them i think the person i bought them off had them fitted to the wheels and then left them off the car for a very long time, and now i have them on my car and there so noise sounds like your running on flat tyres!!

wow cheers my friend i think that will help so im defo gonna get some, its worth a try as having to buy 2 new tyres when these are practically new anyway, sucks!!many thanks for the link

If there 5 years and and one 200 miles there usless bin them and replace new.

You shouldn't use tyres over 5 years old regardless IMO.

One more thing though if the've only done 200 miles f you think about it they have basically been sat in one place for month on end so have got a hard spot on them. No fix is availible thats why you need new ones. IF you have a car going mileagae like this the car should have ben jacked up and the tyres slightly over inflated when the car in the air to stop this porblem occuring.

New tyre time.

Have a 5 year shelf life so have gone off, michelin wont take any responsability for them especially if you have an accident.
