Have I knacked it? Coil pack

Just washed my car this afternoon and cleaned under the bonnet as well. Not loads of water but enough to rinse all the soap off.
Went to drive the car earlier, it started fine as usual but a light in the centre of the dash lit up (a square with a squiggly line running through it) as did the ECU light. I turned the engine off then started again and it struggled to fire. When it started it was running in limp mode and wouldn't rev above 2.5k. Left it for an hour and it starts fine but still the same light.
I presume I have wet the coil pack and that it will need to dry out, or is it more serious?

Prob got wet illuminated light and has stored a fault prob just needs the light reset mate, some even go out on their own after say ........12 hours or so, soak it in WD

I've soaked the coil pack in WD and the fuse box and relay area. Whipped the battery off and I'm going to leave it overnight see if it helps.

Not sure if it helps but I saw the clio cup racers being washed after the first race recently. They were being thoroughly washed under their bonnets - around everything with loads of suds and water. Then next minute they were flying round a racing circuit. Shouldn't do too much harm.

I can't see it doing too much damage, it's just inconvenient.
I've just tried the car again now and it just revs up and down with the light still on. Fook

Will the dash reset tell me what is wrong with it?
I won't need to drive it until tomorrow evening so I'm going to leave it alone.
I have added a pic of the lights below (not my car). Is the light on the left the coil pack light?

I've just checked the manual and this light is apparently the immobiliser. It must be something to do with the moisture as the ECU light is staying on then the immobiliser light comes.
Shall I just leave it overnight.

I've left the car overnight and just tried it again now. It is idling a tabout 2k no matter what then after about 15 seconds of driving the coil/immobiliser light comes on and it's back in limp mode.
What shall I look at next?

Same thing happens to mine when I clean it under the bonnet, yes I know I shouldn't but it gets dirty! LOL

The actual running fault should clear fine, but will need re-seting with the CLiP system.

I charge £17.01 + VAT for a CliP test (19.99), I doubt it will need anything else doing.

Superb. Thanks for that Mike. I'd pop down but from Leeds to you is a bit of a trek LOL.
So the age old 'whip the battery off' trick won't suffice or will the ECU light go out but the fault still be logged?
