Its the 1.2 TCE engine. It is a cracking engine really. Advertised as having the power of a 1.4, torque of a 1.6 and economy of a 1.2, they also do a 1.4TCE now too its in the Megane. All the manufactorers are using small forced iduction engines now, they get much better economy than a n/a engine.

I've driven a Clio 1.2 TCE and it was a nice unit to use, by no means a performance engine but it gives significant improvements over a standard 1.2 16v. It greatly improves the mid range usability of the engine. All relitave of course, like I said its no rocket but it makes the car a lot more useable than a n/a 1.2

they sound like cracking engines

but whats the point in the guy selling it as a 1.2 turbo engine without the turbo or anything included, seems a bit daft to me

did anyone ever find out if one of these 1.2 TCE's would drop straight into a mk2 1.2 16v clio? I heard somewhere it's the same D4F engine but with a turbo D4FT!

I looked into doing a conversion about a year ago but ended up getting a 172 in the end. AFAIK the mounts are the same so it'd drop straight in but looms may be different and you'd need the D4FT ECU unlocked.
