I'm in a position to refit the head to my 182.
I would like to know what the procedure is for refitting it.
I'm concerned that I could bend a some valves depending on when in the cycle i put the camshafts in.
Any advice? Cheers
bottom end pin in at TDC
gasket on
head on
head bolt on
torque to 30nm - wait 20min, torque again (check) to 30nm then angle tighten (180deg i think) - figures maybe wrong, i'm going from memory
cams in, grooves below head and horseshoe fitted
silicone up head
rocker cover on
torque up bolts (set pattern, middle 4, outer 4, then all of them)
pulleys on
belt on
idlers - 55nm
rotate belt
set tension
rotate belt
pulley tool on
torque up pulleys
locking tools out
rotate belt
check timing
put car back together
Spot on, Thanks fred!
So just to check, the camshaft won't push the valves into the cylinder when i tighten the rocker cover down on them as long as I have them lined up with the horse shoe tool?
(with the slots on the ends below centre)?
Cheers once again
