Head gasket change

Pretty certain i know how to....but have i missed anything?

lock crank out where cam pulley markers line up, strip down, take head off.....check gasket and for warping of head, build it back up, head bolts torqued up in order, re-line pulley to markers, tension up cam belt.


Turn engine over from crank forwards and backwards before starting engine.

if its a 172, then you'll be needing the cam locking tools when putting it back together

No it's a Ford KA! been told i shouldn't turn the engine backward, apart from that does the above seem ok?

yea thats fine, Turn the engine twice and make sure its all lined up, the marks on the belt WILL NOT line up after the engine has turned, just make sure all the other marks do.

Ka's are over head valve so it aint got a timing belt!!!
Pushrods and rocker arms.
