Head unit trim

My 2002 172 has a standard 1 DIN hole so I was able to fit my JVC headunit OK without any facia adapter. The problem is, the the radio's facia fitted there's an ugly gap all the way round the outside. The radio came with a silver surround but it didn't really fit properly, was the wrong colour and it broke after I tried to 'make it fit'

Does anyone know where to get a black one? All the sites I've looked at only stock one for a Megane which I presume is because the Clio has a standard hole and doesn't really need an adapter. I'm thinking it might be specific to JVC units because the broken one clipped on to the little holes you use to remove the radio which I know are different for different manufacturers.

So you thing I'm better trying to find one for the radio rather than the car? As I said the one that came with it didn't fit very well so I imagine any other that JVC supplied might be the same.

Does anyone know how similar the Megane console is to the Clio and whether it might be worth trying the facia I mentioned?

Well, it just didn't clip in very firmly. TBH, I can't see how it would be any better in any other car. I tried it for a month or so and it kept coming off when I was removing the facia. Even when it was on, it was round so not flush with the rest of the console. Finally, it was silver which looked naff, especially when the facia was off. Because it didn't fit in, it drew even more attention to the fact there was a non-standard (worth stealing) radio in there.

It looks like this thing might clip in to the edges of the rest of the console, so it wouldn't matter what kind of radio it was, as long as the removable facia fitted the hole. If nobody here has any experience of trying it I might just take a £7 gamble and report back.

that only fits the new mk3 clio and megane,will not solve your problem,no way to clip it,your old fascia must be broken as ive never fitted a jvc where a fascia surround doesnt stay on unless the clips are broken
