  clio extreme 4
i am after some brighter bulbs for my clio extreme 1.2 16v 55 plate and come across some but on the box it is warning that vehicle wiring must be rated at a min of 20amps for 100w bulbs at 12v. will these be ok in my car thanks for any replies

You shouldnt really put rally bulbs/100W bulbs in your car as it will effect other drivers, standard bulbs are about 55/60W so i'm not sure if the wiring would hold up to be honest, try some Philips vision plust bulbs or Osram Silverstar bulbs

As well as wiring wattage there the capacity of the switch and the fuse. Plus heat output. And ultraviolet output.

High wattage globes generate more heat and are are OK in cars with big headlights. But Clio headlights are quite small. There's likely to be too much heat for the volume. there's also the question of what material your headlight covers are. Mine on a 172 are polycarbonate. That requires a globe that has an envelope that doesn't pass ultraviolet because it yellows and destroys polycarbonate.

You can avoid all these problems by buying premium +30 or +50 globes that generate more light output from the same wattage. And the best, but by far the most expensive solution, is to go buy aftermarket xenon lamps. They fit the same headlamp socket, only use about 35 watts, but generate as much light as a 100 watt lamp.
