If i was to fit the custom inlet, apart from a new ecu would std internals be ok, although i spose it wouldn't benefit the best it could.

Theoretically, you'd be able to use the standard ecu if you just use the plenum as yours is already cable throttle.... Im running a standard bottom end mate so you'll be more than safe!

an easy option to stop crap being put in or getting in the tract is a little bit of mesh

i did it with the feed to my viper on me old motor

not the best shot but you can see the mesh, it stopped large objects like leaves etc getting in so served its purpose :approve:

overall. My net opinion is love, but as said I'm dissapointed it's ended up facing skywards a bit.

Is the fabricated airbox/plenum (which by the way looks stunning) going to be restrictive. It just seems a bit wierd having ITBs (loads of induction surface area) sucking through the 70mm hose adapter (much less induction area)?

It's a 172 cable throtlle body mate, not ITB's. The plenum is on the front to do away with all the s**tty plastics and inlet tract that thye have standard......
