Headlight Fault (Xenon)

  Bumder With A Buffer
Recently put some new bulbs into the 1*2 as my drivers side had blown.

Bought some 6800K Xenons to replace them and fitted fine. Recently I noticed that if I turn the lights on for the first time..if I turn them off the passenger one wont turn back on again unless I turn them on/off a few times.

Though okay the ballast or starter may be faulty. But tonight took the bumper off to fit a splitter and as it's easier to play with the headlights with that off had a play.

Put the old standard one in the passenger side...f**king thing works everytime! So must be a dodgy bulb? Although I noticed that the old bulb looks different to the new one.

Il take a pic in a minute as to what they look like...just recovering from slicing half the top of my finger off trimming the splitter:( Huge flappy skin FTL

Right this is a pic of how im "rolling at the moment.. passenger side standard drivers side 6800K one. Im aware it looks gay but at least they will function all the time. Is this an MOT failure as thats fast approaching? Im hoping new ones will be here in time tbh!

As you can see the old passenger side one has a flanged type metal ring that goes up the shaft where-as the old drivers side one doesn't (well not as much)

The new one has not got this at all. Also only just noticed that the old ones are D2S's were the new ones are D2R's. Thoughts? My next thing to try is the new bulb in the drivers side to see if it plays up in there. If so then faulty bulb :(
