Headlight module unit?

So after having an auto eletrician out to sort out my xenon headlight, turns out the 'module headlight unit' as he called it has gone. Its the little silver box that is underneath the headlight, you can only just say see it on the passenger side.

He says to either replace that, or more worryingly, he said it may be cheaper to get a whole new headlight?!

Any idea what the prices are for either of these?

Guessing it's the Xenon ballast? You can get full HID kits, with these, bulbs and wiring for £40. You won't need a full new unit at all. People sell used ballsts on here for cheap too.

whole new headlight is waste of time.put a wanted add on here for a ballast i got mine for £30 and its been perfect since

Im confused to what the ballast is now.

Is the ballsat this?

If so, then this isnt the problem, That works fine.



Underneath the light unit, there is a silver box about the same size, it is this i have been told to replace. I shall take a photo, as best i can tomorrw, if needs be.

I 'think' i need the silver part.
Could you explain what each part is and the location of it from left to right?

from left to right on the last pic, you have the ignitor, xenon bulb and the ballast pack, sounds like you need the ballast pack. some on ebay £50 plus post

Bottom one won't fit, i'd go for the new one tbh save any unknown then.

id get the 3rd one down and offer 35 mate you dont need the extra bits
