Headlight stalk problem

Brother has a Mk3 2006 clio and is having problems clicking between dipped and main beam. Anyone encountered this problem before? New stalk required? Easy to fit?
Any help greatly appreciated.

what exactly is the problem? stiff,sticking,other thing turning on?
i used to get fogs turning off whenever i indicated turns out the cables on the stalk are soldered and it had worked free/loose
may be able to help with more info

It just takes a few attempts to click from dipped to main beam and vice versa as far as I know, not turning anything else on.
Hopefully could just be a loose wire.

i would take the airbag out( 2 holes in back of steering wheel pull the loops away from center), disconect all wiring (airbag and horn)
undo the star bolt in middle and pop the wheel off and see if you can see what the problem is.
