Headlights wont turn off!!!

Hi all,

I've got a 55 plate clio and on thursday i noticed the headlights didn't turn off after i'd locked the car and started walking to my front door.

I don't have auto lights, i don't have courtesy/guide you home lights. When i went to start the car Friday morning the battery was dead.

I have since jumped it and given it a good run to put some juice in the battery but i'm now disconnecting and reconnecting the batery so it doesn't drain it again.

Any idea's on what may be wrong or how to fix it??

Switch the headlight stalk ON - OFF quickly twice and see if that works.

Sorry, just so I'm clear, I mean go from fully OFF on the rotary switch to full ON (not just to sidelights)

Hi Mick,

Just tried that, didn't work. I did it with teh engine on, and tried it again with the keys one click.

Any other Idea's?

UCH fault is most likely I'm afraid and needs properly looking at.

Possibly - I'm assuming this 55 plate is the last of the X65/Clio II an not a Clio III... Correct?
