Headunit Fitting Problem

  Renault Clio 1.2
Hiya,

I've got a Sony CDX-F5700 mp3 headunit, already connected to the clio's stalk and display with a connects2 interface box. The box is fairly bulky, but I just managed to get it stuffed at the back (down to the left) of the HU when I put it in. A very tight squeeze though.

Now though, I have an ipod and have just bought the correct connects2 ipod interface to plug into the sony HU. I've tested box boxes connected at the same time and it all works fine.

The problem is I don't think there's nearly enough room to jam two connects2 boxes behind the HU, so some questions.

1) Can the hazard switch panel be easily removed to help me fit the stereo?
2) Similarly can the lower portion of the dash (heater panel, cup holders, etc) be removed easily
3) Can I easily pass wiring from, say, the passenger footwell to the back of the HU?
4) Is there a recommended best route for the wiring to plug the ipod in? As it's a connects2 interface (which kills all the controls on the ipod once it's plugged in) it could easily go in the glovebox, if the wiring can reach there. Failing that I guess the cup holder area would be best?

Thanks in advance.

If its a Mk2 Ph1 the easiest way i found is to take the top half of the dash off (not as hard as you may think)
