Headunit wiring problem!

  Saxo VTS
Hi.

Picked up my new car last night and it seems someone butchered the wiring for the HU a bit. The speaker side of things is fine but the power wires are confusing me.

Those three wires were connected to her headunit originaly but I have no clue which is which! There's one grey, one green/yellow and a thin grey one.

On my head unit I have these cables:

Yellow = Battery Lead
Black = Ground Lead
Blue = Power Antenna Lead
Red = Switched Power (Ignition) Lead

Any help would be awesome.

Cheers.

I'm confused what cable are what do you want to know what those 3 on ther own are ? Were they just loose before?

The yellow/green one should be the earth lead(negative)which is black on the new one you have.
have you got a voltage tester?
you need to check which one of the grey wires stays live when ignition is turned off!should be the thick one which will connect to the red wire on the new block.
and the thin wire could be the ac live which only becomes live when you turn on ignition!yellow on new block.to be honest its best to use a voltage tester mate to avoid blowing fuses lol:nono: good luck

oh sorry the thin gray could be dash lights.
saxos havent got power antena so u can rule that one out.

  172
get a screwdriver which lights up to tell you there is power,only 2 quid from halfords,then use it to check which is ignition live and permanent live,as above the yellow is earth,the other 2 are the power
