Headwork advice

  182
Hi guys its a little early as this isn't something i'll be looking at getting done untill january but looking for a little info and advice on the subject

First question is - is it worth it and what are the likely gains?

I've been on angelworks website looking at this page:

http://www.angel-works.co.uk/product_cylinderhead.php

Bearing in mind that i have schrick cams and matched inlets what level should i be looking at, presume the more expensive option....

Second of all should i fit a 182 manifold beforehand? I know i may have poo poo'd this mod in the past but it may gain me back some of the low down torque i've lost

Thanks in advance

Craig

Ouch! Hmm not looking good then

Is it something that sould be done like a remap? ie get all the breathing work done first such as exhaust etc of does it not matter?

Did you fit cams too AR?

Nah i didn't see the merit.

mines was balanced, Inlets, headwork, Maxogen, Remap, zorst, decat. Ran 192.6... Was quick! But only a bit faster. Not worth the money!

Headworks about £600 then there's all the bits and bobs that goes with it, the labour, plus the 182 manifold and then at the end a remap. You wont be a million miles off 1500 for that little lot.

It will make a difference but not a £1500 well spent worth of difference IMO

If i were you, id hold on to the cash and save a bit more for going down the forced induction route

if its done properly its where a lot of power can be gained. from experiences in the past with escort turbos/205mi's of my friends can make monumental differences! but on its own its not something that gets mega power, its all in conjunction with other mods, eg. my old 106 quiksilver gained 32bhp from induction kit/decat/4-2-1 mani/uprated injectors/ported throttle body/ported, polished gas flowed head & piper cam. in the end turned out the head hadn't been done very wel and was holding back the cam after 5k, which had range all the way to 8k!!! do research on the company you get it from, as its a tricky thing!
