Heated windscreen

Hi all

I have a friend that fits windscreens for a living and we've just been talking about heated windscreens to which he said he can get hold of but don't know price untill tomorrow afternoon, he said if there's a demand he could do a group buy.

Obviously price dependant but who would be interested in these?
I thought i'd put it here to gain interest and see if there is a demand before the group buy thread starts.

I'd be up for that, only reason i've still got the heater in the car is for the windscreen, only problem is getting it fitted any suggestion's? surely any of the windscreen company's would only fit the screen's they offer.

I think thier are some indipendant screen specialists that will fit a new screen for you, as in you have the screen and wish for the to fit it........

Yes as above most companies will fit if you already have a screen.

Someone on another forum I frequent tried to get a group by for Golfs. Anyway, the price was ~£250 for a run of 5. Not sure if that included fitting. Might give yous an idea of the kind of price to expect.

On Ricky Evans Motorsport for the Clio their £247 inc vat but not sure about fitting.

Will wait and see what the price comes out at, but he did say he can probably get clear and green tint.

Postage with R.E Motorsport is also £45ish ontop although it does come very well packaged!

what switch would you wire into? The rear-screen heater?

You could do if you wanted to, but if not there is a few spare slots for extra relays so you could fit another switch.

My friend finally got back to me today and the prices are similar to Ricky Evans motorsport.

So told him don't worry about it as people will get them if and when they want from REM instead,

Just on the off chance i thought i'd ring REM and ask to see what his price is and also ask if he was to do a group buy.
He did say that he ain't got any mk1 leon screens as someone from Bristol area bought all 10 he had for his car, his name is Kevin bird 01749 860781 he did say you could try him, other than that he would only make them again if someone was to get a order of 10 at a time.

But as for the group buy he said he'd do a group buy and offer some discount if they are all picked up so no postage offered, he didn't say any discount prices to me just he'd sort me out when i come to pick them up.

Also another thing that i didn't know is Ricky Evans motorsport actually makes them so what my "friend" said he can get them is probably bulls**t and all he's doing is ringing REM himself.

I found this myself when I was looking for mine! No matter where I went or who I tried I could find nobody who makes or supplies them other than RE Motorsport even with a few mates in the trade they couldn't find anything either!
