Heater blower motor.

Hi all..

I know all about the resistors being faulty etc, this thread isnt about that!

What im asking is, how would i go about removing the fan motor etc and having a look at it? Ive got a feeling its siezed/sticking.

Reason i think this is because when my heating is set to full, the fan might come on as soon as i start the car, or it wont come on, but then when i hit a bump it will come on, sometimes on full or sometimes it will build up gradually but then if i hit another bump, it will go off?

Also, when its on full and its working, if i turn it down then i can hear the fan ticking, like a helicopter.. and once i turn it down, it wont go back up :s

Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

Sounds like a poor connection to me, typical of stuff coming on and off over bumps. Usually if the motors seize up even a little the fuse will be the first thing to blow.

Bonnet up
Remove O/S scuttle panel ( black trim directl below w.screen ) small trim clip on the left
Remove water collector by sliding it to the right
Unplug big red coloured plug ( pull the red part to the left )
Remove the 2 or 3 ( can't remember ) gold coloured screws with a 6mm socket, the far left one just under the wings plastic tab can be a nightmare.
You can now lift the motor, fan and it's housing out.

There's a good guide with pictures on Pure Motorsports website under air con delete pulleys fitting guide ( the heater box comes out to remove AC rad ).
