Heater fans won't turn off at all!

Hi,

I am a having a problem with my clio sport 182 2004. I turned my car on this evening and heater fans started on full. I tried to turn the fans off but they are still on full. I am able to change the temperature and where the heat comes from eg windscreen, footwell etc but just can't turn them off!!

any ideas?

Also is it safe to drive the car when this happening? as I do around 60 miles a day to work and back.

any help would be great

It'll be safe to drive with them on, just don't leave your ignition on without engine running as it may drain the battery.

You need a heater resistor, I bought one off eBay for £50 and it came with a 12month warrantee too. Easy to replace, about 10-15mins.

Thanks Simon for your quick reply. I did read on another forum that driving with it would destroy my alternator that's why I thought I should ask the question
