Heater Matrix!!

Woo hoo is all i can say!!

I changed mine today and i have actually got heat now!!

Its a piece if piss to do!! I did it in just under 3 hours! Was a bit brutal thou and bust a couple of bits of plastic but nowt major!!

But my f**king hands kill all over! Plastic is well sharp!!

Was well dreading doing it but i dont know what all the fuss is about!! Im so glad i didnt pay £300 to get it done!!

The Matrix in my old ZX died one day when the Girlfriend was driving. Steam & smoke everywhere - to make matters worse the electrics died and she couldnt get the window open. Thankfully she was only 50 yards from my work - I did laugh when appeared from a car full of fog - you couldnt see her sitting in the car. She was shaken but fine - the car smelled of burnt plastic (like puke) for months.

Mine wasnt that bad just blowing out cold air all the time, was a right b**ch the last week cause it was cold enough without having the blower on full clearing the windscreen!!

yeh its not that hard took me about a day but i fitted a new low temp stat and rad and fan switch at same time

its very fiddly tho and takin dash apart is not easy unless u kno where the bolts and screws are

Yeah the dash is a bit of a b**ch, but its the third time i have stripped the dash out of 16v/willys so am getting to know my way around!!

How difficult are the low temp stats n low temp fan switches to fit as im gonna do these on my willy lump before it goes in!!

Fancy doin mine if i pay u ?? I can only get hot air for 30 seconds before it runs out !! the matrix has had it !

Like i said i was pretty brutal with mine n really pulling the dash out of the way while with the other hand getting the matrix out of the heat distribution unit!! 2 of us could do it well easy i reckon!! I wish i had of had another pair of hands!!

One of my hands is cut to f**k thou!

How much was the matrix to buy? and where did you get it? Mines had it. never thought of changing it untill i read this. cheers.

Is the matrix the same for all 16vs? did they require the car age when you ordered, I need to replace the one on my wifes J reg
