heavy steering after replacing battery

Hello I recently put a new battery in my Clio 1.2 dynamique 04 plate but since doing this the steering has become heavy as though there's no power steering

I have been told it's the ecu but I'm turning to the knowledge of you guys

Any help appriciated

Does the "Steering Wheel" light on the dash come on, go off and stay off when you start the car?

Yep goes straight off

Get it plugged in. Possibly a fault due to inconsistent speed signal via CAN

Hooked up to a disgnosi test?

Possibly a wire/connector dislodged?

Could be an ECU glitch. Perhaps disconnecting the battery and reconnecting might fix it?
