Helmet size....

no not that kind! *for the filthy minded lol* ;)

Purchased a Sparco Formula helmet from Merlin Motorsport at Castle Combe recently and not sure i made the right choice in size. Tried a medium and it felt a bit too tight on the old cheeks lol, went for a large in the end.

Came home and thought id check demon tweeks...saved £18 odd quid! But looked at the size chart and measured me head and apparently im 2.5cm off a large and a medium should be the best fit?! In two minds now as the large maybe isnt as snug on the cheeks as it should be  Shall i go back and change it or not...opinions appreciated :D

crap, think its too loose then! Touches the cheeks but not really much pressure....think im gonna have to get a medium! Will they be ok about exchanging helmets?

Cheek pads loosen up after a while. The medium would ahve been fine if it wasnt tight on top of your head aswell.

Ive got the Sparco Formula - when I tried it on in the shop they got me to hold it while I tried to move my head up and down and side to side, wasnt supposed to be able to get any movement really.

Usualy the policy with helmets is that when they leave the shop its no return as they are only suppose to last one accident, the shop you baught it from might think you have droppe dit down the road or something whilst int he box and want a new one. They can never tell. You can try, good luck is all im saying!

you need to try different shapes of lid, as they might fit better.

I tried a Shoie (sp) but that did not fit as well as my Arai,

you need to to it makes your cheeks uncomfortable at first..... you get used to it... if there is ANY free movement its too large....

best bet is to goto the shop and talk to someone who knows whats they are on about....

I use my bike helment, took me over an hour to choose the right fit.....

worth getting it right and spending the money on the best you can afford with this one.
