Help 48,000 Mile Service

Hi All,

Please help me, Y Reg 172! @ 48,000 miles it will be due for a service. Don't want to pay stupid prices for this service so whats a sensible price to pay?

And should I also get the Aux Belt and Cam Belt changed at the same time?

its big money for the belts, especially the cam belt, 7 odd hour job. Best taking it somewhere like www.ren-tech.co.uk if you are not hundreds of miles away.

anywhere above £600 for the cambelt @ Renault..
if your bus is 5 years old, its advisable to get it changed.

Was just on the dog and bone, and they quoted me £500 including Cam Belt and Aux belt change, expensive?! Does this sound about right.

A bit less than 500 and that included a new water pump, cambelt kit, aux belt.

Apparently the cups are a lot easier to do the work on though cos of no aircon system.

aux belt should have been done at 36k. The 48k service is just a regular 'minor' service, oil, filters.

although mine has not done the mileage the age is coming up this september oh dear!!! how much are the parts on there own if i got a local guy to do it cheers thanks again
