help buying a camcorder

Ive looked into and even bought one of the cheaper end HD camera's. Ended up selling the cheaper one (and by cheap I mean £200) and buying a £600 one.
The difference is like night and day. I can deffinatly recommend the Canon HF-100 as a top notch HD camera, records in 1080i and the quality is superb.
Unless you want to spend £600 don't bother getting an HD camera, buy an SD one for £100 or so.
