This started on Tuesday, have been driving the car after starting cold, pulled in and switched engine off for about 5minutes, got back and it didnt even turn over, so i left it a while then edventully it started up again, I thought it may have been because i just filled up and since the tank was empty there was dirrt trying to filter throw (also i did not put in wrong petrol lol) then today i started the engine up first time from cold, drove for about 10/15mins engine off again for about 20/25minutes got back in and same problem again...

My Dad came down and gave me a push then it fired up again so drove to a garage and they thought it was the starter motor, as did my Dad. However they just phoned and said it 'apperas' to be fine. The battery was checked and is also okay. Not sure if it may be because i have just fitted an induction kit, but this has been on a while - a week or so.

When i do get this problem the car does not even turn over, the ignition switches on and thats it, no noise from the engine at all.

So now its help from the people of ClioSport!

Any ideas ?

Ben :(

Yeah as Jay mentioned check both your terminals on the start (+ & -) Did the garage test the starter motor? Could be a sticky starter motor, next time it does it rock it in gear, and try it again.

Whats your immobiliser light doing checkout your connections on the Ring Decoder - plastic ring that goes around the ignition barrel. Ring up the garage and ask if they did a CLIP faults test.

Could be a jamming relay under the bonnet possibly.

Also tom im not sure what checks the carried out, I may take it somewhere else like Reno or somewhere who specialise in electrics or can do a full check

No, RAC man sorted mine with a new crimp and some tape :) I could've fixed it myself :)o) if he'd told me the problem!

Probbly yeah, just give it a bit of a wiggle and see if it's loose or there are signs of rust/corrosion etc. :)

yep as above its the spade connector to the starter motor, just un-clip it and clean it. it stops working as it gets corroded with crap.
