Help, Clio 182 running rough.

  Clio 182
Oryt,
new to this so any help would be appreciated!

just having some issues with my 182 and wondered if anyone else has experienced the same symptoms. When dipping clutch or dropping revs say at a junction the cars cutting out. Ehen this happened, both the stop and battery lights were coming on. Starting it back up again seems to be okay until the next junction. And now the car occasionally decides it wants to mix things up and revs it's self idling at high revs 2-3k

You can tell it is not running as it should, running a bit rich and throwing out a lot of unburnt fuel from the exhaust. Also it seems to be coughing and spluttering until it cuts out again.

I've had a some pals who are subru experts look at it, but had no luck!
Initially thought it was the lambs so replaced that one of the lambda sensors, still no change.
Also took the MAP sensor out as the engine was running this stopped the revs jumping around, so replaced that and yep back to square one still cutting out althought it's made it run a tiny bit better not giving out as much unburn fuel, could there be something liked to that?

Finally cleaned the throttle body too, no change!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! - or if anyone else has any thoughts as to what the problem could be, would be useful!

i have a p1 172 apart from cutting out , I have changed the icv , 2 tb , 1 new throttle cable and it still plays up on the idle , the last thing I will change is the proximity censor on the side of the tb and if that don't work I will go mad .

As for high revs..... if its sucking in air somewhere.... this will happen..... so whilst idling pull the pipe off the throttle body, & place your hand over it & completley seal it off.... the car should cut out... if it doesnt.... you have an air intake leak somewhere. only do this whilst idling though......

Cheers for that bud, will give it a shot tomorrow.
Tried to look for some leaks with a solution that bubbled but couldn't see anything obvious.

if you block the main intake off..... if it has a leak somewhere...... you will.. or should hear where its sucking in....... like i said...... dont use a glove or anything as it will get sucked in. try and use the whole plam of your hand. Also air intake leaks.... can cause a lamda fault to register.

Just been out playing with the car, done as you said and the car instantly cut out therefore thats airleaks discounted?

Could the problem be linked to a injector or a faulty idle control valve within the throttle body?

Sadly not, unless it goes into the garage but he's full up until next week. Will let you know once it's been into the garage what shows up. Will a dodgy injector or throttle body show up on a diagnostic machine? As I've had no engine management lights on until I took sensor off....
