HELP, elecrtical problem, earth? battery?

my car has something wrong with it, it wont start, but starts fine with a jump start, runs for a while, after a few minits the rev's drop, the abs light comes on, the headlights go off, it stutters then stall's, it then wont turn over at all, but again is fine with a jump start.

So can someone tell me whats wrong??

duff alternator. sounds like the jump is enough to get it started but then it dies after a while

does the batt light work?

the battery light is not showing, but then i dunno if it actualy works.
bass direct is coming tommorrow with an alternator and a battery+ multimeter.
