Help engine swap

Hi.. Recently my big end bearing went on my Clio cup.. I now have a second hand engine and about to strip the old one out and put this one in.. My question is.. Can you leave the gear box in the engine bay or do you have to take engine and box out as one ??? There doesn't seem that much room to move engine away from box.. It might go but I'm not sure.. Some help please

take the lot out as one, out the top

As fred says its the easiest way, that I found anyway. And plus by the time you fiddle to undo all the bolts etc etc its probably quicker too

If the engine bay was 5mm wider it would be a piece of p.ss

Mine is coming out the bottom,
only coz I got the subframe out todo bushes and rollbar
and s**t loads more I spose
