Help-Exhaust Recommendations

  Rangerover Supercharged

People, my Cup is going into Top Gear in Burnley for a powerflow system fitted, has anyone got any recomendations for tailpipe designs that would suit the Cup gonna go for twin exit but cant decide on tailpipe design.

Powerflow arent very good as their universal pipes are welded together (by spotty mechanic apprentices) to fit onto your car, if anything BHP/torque will be lost. I see no point in using them when there is a plethora of manufacturers who make systems for the 172.

Hmmm. Got a cat back from there Poundrick. Twin 3" for £250. Cant believe how much power I lost...went from 14.5 secs to nearly 14 dead!;)

Sounds really nice, not too loud and looks good too. Cant really tar every branch of Topgear with the same brush. Got my exhausts from there on my last 3 cars and never had any trouble at all.

God - Pictures on the car now...?

Pound - Why dont you be the first to go for a Hayward & Scott exhaust? They are like Powerflow...but are good. They make real exhausts and produce real power gains. have a look... http://www.haywardandscott.co.ukwww.haywardandscott.co.uk

Youre that naiive to think an exhaust effected your 1/4 mile time?!

What makes me laugh is people say Powerflow are fantastic and clearly they havent even seen how theyre made. They use the lowest grade stainless, in fact its barely stainless at all! The baffle material is absolute sh*t..and tends to melt because everything is welded instead of mandrel bent. You get these free checks every year on them because they expect it to go wrong lol!

The tendency is people are recommending what they own, and havent actually compared their stuff with anything else so its giving false info. This forum is the first ive used where people buy these add ons without checking them out first, its amazing how some of the Cliosporters are happy to chuck hundreds of pounds at something they know little or nothing about purely through the fact everyone else has got the same thing.

Powerflow should be a censored word on this forum imho..!

One of the guys I work with kept going on about me getting a custom build, but Im too lazy and always want things now.

Id had a good nose at what others had at meets before I decided. Two things put me off the K Tec, one the noise, too loud for my delicate ears ;) and two was the number of people who have said "its a bit loose at the moment, need to tighten it up" lol.

Obviously it being a little loose has nothing to do with the quality of the exhaust. Just who fitted it. ;)

The Magnex has an annual checkup Rob. Keeps the warrantly intact I think.

From the first post though it looks like poundrick has already decided and its just the tail pipe design he is thinking about. If not, and you are going to Donnington at the weekend Id wait and have a look at other peoples systems.

Wow Rob your so smart!;)

I couldnt give a sh*t how they are made or what grade of stainless steel they use. All I can tell you is what my personal experience with the local Powerflow supplier has been. Had a back box on my first car (1.2 Clio) and never had a problem in 3 years. On my 5 turbo I had a Full system and again no problems (full system for £180!?) and now on my Cup and, touch wood, had no problems again. 20 mins from my house so wouldnt be a prob if I did.

Obviously people are going to recommend what they own as its what they have experienced. You would have to be pretty sad to just ignore what you know to join in with what the majoritory (sp) says.

Here we go..all im saying is that ive seen many exhausts being made, taken them apart etc for motorsport so i tend to know the ins and outs and am just passing on the facts, in reality i couldnt give two shiny ones in what anyone here buys!

Clearly we think differently, build quality is one of the most important factors with me, and i expect them not to go wrong so i wouldnt commend them for not doing so either.

Cheers fellas, gonna change the booking to November and have a look at everyones systems at Donny on Sunday, see ya all there.

Missus has got a supersprint (I think) on her Williams. It looks and sounds nice and isnt over the top. 3inch exit I think.

Well decided to have the exhaust done yesterday, nice sound not too loud, twin exit, got to admit the car doesnt feel quite so sensitive on the throttle but as soon as 4.5k comes the car pulls really srtongly, Its going down to Hillpower in a couple of weeks for some cams, induction kit and chip so it should run nicely then.
