Help fitting goodridge hoses

Went to fit them today looked at the back brake line and there is no way this fits:

My clio is a ph2 172, have i gone and got ph1 hoses?
The front ones look like they would fit, but don't want to risk it?

The back ones dont bolt onto the caliper like the front ones do they fit further underneath the car.

Follow the existing line under the car you will see where the back ones fit

You sure? as i thought they replaced that rubber bit?

Well not 100% sure no but thats how they fit on my old Golf VR6.

Was surprised to find they didnt fit near the caliper but there you go :S

Just had a quick look, there is some hoses that could be replaced under the passengerside at the back? but isn't the point they go by the calipers?

Not really, standard hoses can expand under heavy and prolonged braking, the goodridge hoses just stop this.

The pipes to the rear brakes are mostly metal anyway apart from a small length of rubber hosing.

Thats how they were on my old golf, if the piping you have found is the same length as the goodridge hose than id say they are the hoses to replace.

The hoses most suppliers offer. Are only for the connection from the underside of car, to rear beam. And not to the calliper.

I had some made up to replace the calliper high pressure hose. (Which you show in your pics.) Which also gives better protection and completes the system.

Yes, these are the ones, I have replaced my rear discs & pads today & was going to do the hose too but it looks like a hard job on the rears. Obviously you undo the male ends on the metal pipe but how do you remove the rubber hose? they appear to be crimped into a metal holder which has a metal 'U' shaped cover over preventing easy access. Do you have to cut/butcher the old ones off? Has anyone else actually changed these or do you just take it to a garage & pay someone else to do it???

I've just come to do mine and was as confuesed as Rollo. However, if you look the the left and right of the picture where the plates are, on the outer sides where the copper pipe enters the bracket there are nuts to release the hoses. How easy they will be to do undo is a different question.

Got my hoses to change soon.....when I find a free day with decent weather.

Just wondered if I could get a clear idea of what I have to do.

I know the rears might be a bit awkward:dapprove: ....but is it a matter of:

1. Removing hoses, trying your best to contain the messy brake fluid.
2. Fit new hoses.
3. Replace brake fluid including bleeding of system.

I have some Castrol Super Dot 4 and a Gunsons Ezeebleed gadget. I assume there will be loads of air due to replacing the hoses??

Have I missed owt or has anyone got any tips to help??

to me it looks like they sent you a dodgy bunch of lpipes, Females on each side and if i remember correctly it should be a male that connects into the calliper and a female that connects into the main brake line, unless they have sent/you orderd the wrong pipes that connect after the calliper.

this is how ya do it,

nip the flexy/brake pipe ur changing with mole grips, take it out of the calliper, get a bucket/pot ready take the mole grips off and drain the fluid into the pot. (do this both sides if nessecery, cuz it could all come out of one side). Once drained unscrew the other end of the flexy and fit the knew one. once fitted all four top up the brake fluid, get a pal to jump in the drivers seat, get him to pump the brakes and get him to keep the pressure on, loosen the bleeding nipple on one calliper and the brake fluid should squirt out and the pedel should go rite to the floor, nip the bleeding nipple back up get him to pump the brakes back up it should be harder, repeat this sequence for all callipers.
