Help fitting steering wheel stalk controls...please!!

Hi,

I have fitted my Alpine head unit to my clio 52-plate Mk2 172. I have removed the dash to fit the patch lead i got from autoleads (PC99-ALP). I remove the red connector which seems to work the clock and temperature.

However, this doesn't work and i also seem to lose all power to my dash display, including my clock.

I followed the instructions given with the lead but cant seem to get it to work. Can anyone help please??

From memory (It has been over 2 yrs(and was a ph1)) is it not meant to go on to a yellow connector
